Trails Committee needs help cleaning up from Sandy

The Shelton Trails Committee is still cleaning up from Storm Sandy, and need the public’s help.

This Saturday, Nov. 17, volunteers are asked to join trails members in a special work partyclean-up  of the Turkey Trot Trail across 108, in order to make it usable again.

“Thank you all for your thanks and praise about the extraordinary clean up that has been done so quickly on our Rec Path and trails,” The committee said in an email. ”We love that you love being out there taking advantage Shelton’s special recreational opportunity.

“But, please note, 99% of this recent disaster removal and repair has been done by the Shelton Trails Committee Members alone.”

The work party is going to meet by the red barn near the Dog Park at 8:30 a.m.

Extra sets of hands would be much appreciated, the committee members said, even if just for an hour or so.

Due to conditions of the storm, the annual November guided hike was canceled.
