Turkey Drive is now through Nov. 18

The Spooner House annual frozen turkey and fixings drive is on now through Nov. 18 and the need for community help is greater than ever, according to Susan Agamy, the executive director.

“More than 6,000 individuals have been served by the Food Bank this past year, comprising over 153,000 meals, 92,000 more than just four years ago, when 61,000 meals were served,” Agamy said. “Our supplies have virtually disappeared this week because of recent requests for local aid following the visit to Connecticut by storm Sandy.”

Plenty of locations throughout the Valley will be drop-off sites for donations. In Shelton, Huntington Fire Co. headquarters, at 44 Church Street is collecting nonperishables on Sunday, Nov. 11 and Nov. 18, from 8:30 to noon. R.D.
