Resident to open salon and day spa on Monday

Shelton resident Lisa Marie Serra is preparing for the grand opening of her new business, Salon Sanctuary and Day Spa in Monroe. Serra co-owns this business with Heather Lynn Fernandes of Beacon Falls.

The spa, at 380 Monroe Tpke., is scheduled to open Oct. 15. It will offer a variety of services, including hair, skin care, massages, nails, Reiki, wellness seminars and more.

They will be open for appointments seven days a week, with walk-in service available. The space is completely handicapped-accessible, so everyone may enjoy pampering and relaxing.

Serra will also serve as the operations manager, and has 20-plus years in the sales & promotion and marketing industry. She has more than 15 years of management experience and has always had a passion for the beauty industry.

She lives in Shelton with her husband Fred, and they have six children.

Serra is on the board of directors for the Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley, has served on several committees for various other organizations, and has been involved in fund-raising projects for area sports teams and more.

Fernandes, who is also the head stylist and Reiki master, has been in the industry for more than 10 years. She lives in Beacon Falls with her husband Jake and their two sons.
