The Chocolate Pizza Company, a gourmet sweet shop franchise, is opening a downtown Shelton location Oct. 15.
The Chocolate Pizza Company, based in central New York state is known for its chocolate treats, according to the company. In the past two years, owner Ryan Novak has expanded the business from the headquarters in Marcellus, New York to offer the gourmet sweets to over 500 retail locations in 36 states.
The expansion continues with the newest Chocolate Pizza Company shop in Shelton at 435 Coram Ave.
The Chocolate Pizza Company gets its name for its signature item — the Chocolate Pizza. It’s a premium chocolate blended with homemade English toffee poured into a round pizza shape. The pizzas are topped with almonds, pecans, walnuts, a white chocolate drizzle and served in genuine pizza boxes. The chocolate pizza is often paired with the shop’s Peanut Butter Wings.The wings are made from top quality potato chips, layered with peanut butter then dipped in chocolate.
Proprietors Wendy and Paul Hahn will open the Shelton store on Oct. 15. Wendy Hahn said she is looking forward to sharing her love for chocolate,
“We decided to open a Chocolate Pizza store because we really love the product and believe our community will as well,” Hahn said in a release from the company. “Paul and I are sure that everyone will love the unique offerings of Chocolate Pizza for gift giving, as well as for a special treat.”
