Orlando G. Buccelly, age 91 of Shelton, husband of Dolores Marti Buccelly, passed away September 25, 2012 at Griffin Hospital, Derby.
Orlando was born in Derby, February 15, 1921, son of the late Liberato and Antonetta Bosco Buccelly.
Mr. Buccelly was a veteran of the Army Air Corps proudly serving his country during WWII as a Staff Sergeant serving as a Tower Control Operator in the Pacific.
After serving his country, Orlando worked as a Sheet Metal Mechanic for the former U.S. Motors and Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation until his retirement. He was also a lifetime member of the American Legion, Sutter-Terlizzi Post 16, Shelton.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Joan Russel (John) of Waterbury; brother Robert Buccelly (Gertrude) of Shelton; sisters Eva Ogle of Southbury and Ada Rauscher of Worcester, MA.
He was predeceased by his brother, Dante Buccelly, who was killed in WWII; and sister Dora Buccelly.
Calling hours will be held Thursday (TODAY) from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. in the JAMES T. TOOHEY & SON FUNERAL HOME, 92 HOWE AVE., SHELTON. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10:00 A.M. in St. Margaret Mary Church, 380 Long Hill Ave., Shelton. Burial with full military honors will follow in Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery, Derby.
