Dana Williams had three hits to lead Caliente Bar & Grill to a 5-2 win over Cuppy’s Café Monday in a Shelton Women’s Softball League game.
Mary Piccirillo was the winning pitcher and Allie Barker tripled for Caliente, which is slated to be the No. 2 seed in the upcoming league playoffs.
Defending league champion Porky’s improved to 13-0 with a 15-0 win against Danny O’s Wednesday.
Pitcher Amy Petryshyn hurled a shutout and also homered, tripled and singled for Porky’s, once again the top-seeded team in the SWSL playoffs.
Beth Fisher added three hits, while Judi Connors and Tracey Garafalo had two hits apiece in the win for Porky’s.
R&C Autobody defeated Downtown Danny O’s 2-0 Monday, as Madeline Krushinsky hurled a shutout and Mary Martinik had a run-scoring single. Also, Cuppy’s defeated Danny O’s 11-2 Monday behind the pitching of Julie Crockett and all-around team hitting.
Two make-up games with playoff implications will be played Monday, as Caliente meets Downtown Danny O’s and R&C Autobody squares off with Hirschbeck’s Sports Bar & Grill.
