James Michael Collins Sr.

James Michael Collins Sr., 73, of Huntington, peacefully passed away August 23, 2012 at Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Collins was born in Springfield, MA and was a longtime Trumbull resident before moving to Huntington.

He graduated from Fairfield Preparatory High School, attended the University of CT and the University of Bridgeport. He was the longtime proprietor of Stonehaven Rest Home in Bridgeport.

He was past president of the Trumbull Lions Club and was co-chairman of construction of the Trumbull EMS Building. He was also a member of the Fairfield County Fish and Game Club and the Hattertown Rod and Gun Club.

He is survived by his beloved wife Beverly Bachey Collins of Huntington; three devoted children Cathleen Collins and her partner Joseph Seperack of Stratford, Cory Collins of Newton, MA and James Michael Collins Jr. of Burlington, CT; two cherished granddaughters Dana Kristina Collins and Sasha Monti and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents John and Yola Collins, his grandson Gabriel Collins and his brother John Collins.

Friends are invited to attend his funeral services on Monday at 11:00 a.m. directly at the Trumbull Congregational Church 3115 Reservoir Ave. Trumbull with the Reverend Paul Goodman officiating. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull, CT. Friends may call on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Trumbull Funeral Home 399 White Plains Rd.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Trumbull Lions Club through the funeral director.
