The Shelton High girls 4×800 meter relay team had an incredible finish to the 2012 outdoor track and field season.

The team of freshman Hannah Gill, sophomore Joelle Schumacher, junior Emma Floberg and junior Shannon Langdon started with a fourth-place finish at the SCC championship meet, running 9:50.49.

The next week, the girls shattered the school record at the Class LL championships with a 9:38.27, placing fourth overall. Gill split a 2:27, Schumacher 2:21, Floberg 2:24 and Langdon 2:25. The girls qualified and competed in the State Open and placed seventh overall (9:41).

They went on to run at the New England championships in Saco, Maine and finished 19th overall (9:50). Pictured (l-r) are Shelton coach Adam Reynolds, Floberg, Schumacher, Gill, Shannon Langdon and coach Katelyn Botsford.
