David L. Yachymczyk

David L. Yachymczyk, 56, of Shelton, entered into rest at the Veterans Hospital in West Haven on Friday July 13, 2012.

He was born on August 22, 1955, son of Felix and Carol Yachymczyk.

David served in the U.S. Air force during Vietnam from 1973 to 1974. He worked as a bricklayer for many years and was a member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen Union CT Local 1.

David was an active member of the American Legion Post 16 in Shelton. He was most recently honored for his participation in the construction of the new Veterans Memorial Walkway, located at the post.

Besides his parents he leaves behind his brothers and sisters, Michael Yachymczyk and his wife JoAnn, Janet Yachymczyk, Brian Yachymczyk, Nancy Yachymczyk- Nowotny and Tina Yachymczyk Pitsch and her husband Charles. He is survived by his nieces and nephews Toni, Caitlyn, Ian, Tyler, Leah, Marissa, Julianna, Ryan, Melanie and his nephew and God Son Michael Yachymczyk Jr. David also leaves behind his good friend Abbe Beard. David is survived by many family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Interment will be private. Arrangements are in care of All State Cremation & Funeral Care.
