Richard D. Matika

Richard D. Matika, a 78 year old Shelton resident, entered into eternal rest July 25, 2012.

He was born December 26, 1933 in Derby, son of the late John & Dorothy Krempetz Matika and worked as a welder for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft of North Haven until retirement.

He is survived by his former wife, Nancy Sorman, his two sons, David Matika of Beacon Falls & Richard Matika of Benton, Kentucky, his brother John Matika of Ansonia and two grandsons, Michael & Alexander.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 27 at 10:00 a.m. from The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia. (www.jenkinskingfh.com) Entombment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Mausoleum in Derby. Friends may call on Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. before the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The CT Humane Society.
