Anthony J. Tichy

Anthony J. Tichy, age 86, of Shelton, entered into rest on Tuesday July 24, 2012. He was the devoted husband of the late Ella Scates Tichy.

Mr. Tichy was born in Shelton on Sept. 12, 1925, son of the late Frank and Emma Tichy and was a lifelong Shelton resident.

He was employed as an Electronic Technician for many years at PerkinElmer before his retirement. He proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII and including fighting at the Battle of the Bulge and was a charter member of St. Lawrence Church.

He is the beloved father of Thomas Tichy and his wife Louise, the loving grandfather of Ryan, Thomas, Robert, Kate and Sean and adoring great grandfather of Michael and Shane. He is also survived by one brother, one sister and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two sons Frank and Michael Tichy, 2 brothers, and one sister.

Friends may greet his family on Thursday from 4 to 7 PM in the Riverview Funeral Home 390 River Road Shelton. On Friday his funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:15 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Lawrence Church Shelton. Burial will follow in Lawn Cemetery.

At the request of his family memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America 322 8th Ave., 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
