Naomi Grace Tyrrell

Naomi Grace Tyrrell, 9, of Huntington, daughter of Leon and Lorna (Greer) Tyrrell, died July 6, at home, with her family by her side.

Born in Bridgeport, she lived in Huntington her whole life. She attended Mohegan School, and most recently, St. Vincent’s School for Special Needs.

In her limited time on earth Naomi touched the lives of so many people. The outpouring of support, love and encouragement from her local community during her illness was truly appreciated by her family. She loved time spent on her grandpa’s boat, art, swimming, puppies of all kinds, music and spending time with her sisters and close friends.

She will be deeply missed by all who love her. Survivors in addition to her loving parents include three devoted sisters, Olivia Tyrrell, Rebekah Butler and her husband Jonathan and their son Nathan and Mary Tyrrell all of Huntington; maternal grandparents, Don and MaryLou Greer of Trumbull; maternal great-grandmother, Helen Taylor of Cheshire, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, James Tyrrell and Maura Tyrrell-Benway.

Friends may greet the family Monday, July 9, 2012 from 5-9 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. Interment will be private in St. John’s Cemetery, Monroe. Family and friends are welcome to a celebration of Naomi’s life which will be held Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, 300 North Benson Road, Fairfield with the Rev. David DeVries officiating.
