Here’s what’s going on in Shelton Saturday through Sunday:

Saturday, Oct. 13

Flea market — The Shelton Community Lions Club is seeking vendors for its flea market that will run from 8-2 p.m., at 404 Bridgeport Avenue. Vendors are wanted for spaces that are 19 x 27, at a cost of $35. Proceeds benefit local people in need. Tag sale — Housatonic Council, Boy Scouts of America holds sale from 9 to 2 p.m. at the Riverwalk, 100 Canal Street. The tag sale will support Scouts and leaders attending the 2013 National Scout Jamboree in West Virginia. Vendor spaces are $15. Porketta dinner— Public invited to the First United Methodist Church at the corner of Long Hill Avenue and Rocky Rest Road for dinner, 5-7 p.m. On the menu will be salad, penne, slow-roasted porketta, baby roasted potatoes, vegetable, beverages and dessert.  Tickets are $15 for adults, $13 for seniors and children 12 and younger are free. Take-out and delivery to Wesley Village will be available.  Proceeds will be used for the missions and ministries of the church. Barefoot in the Park — At Center Stage Theatre, Fridays and Saturdays, 8 p.m. through Oct. 20, with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, Oct. 14. Adults are $25, students, $10. The theater is located at 54 Grove Street, Shelton. Call 203-225-6079 or visit for tickets.

Sunday, Oct. 14

U.S. Flag retirement — Sutter-Terlizzi, American Legion Post 16, will be holding a flag retirement ceremony at 1:30 p.m., featuring Boy and Girl Scouts. Flags needing to be retired may be dropped off at the Post, 295 Bridgeport Avenue, in a metal red, white and blue flag deposit box located under the front porch of the post.


Classical guitarist performs — “500 years of Music for Guitar” will be performed at Trinity Lutheran Church, 183 Howe Avenue, at 3 p.m. Musician Peter Griggs will perform everything from the Renaissance to contemporary music. Admission is a free-will donation.
