Bill grew up in Bridgeport, CT. and graduated from Warren Harding High School. He attended University of Bridgeport. He joined the United States Army in 1943 and served in the European Theatre of Operation. Mr. Wright worked with Lycoming Division of AVCO Corporation from 1952 until retirement in 1987. He later enjoyed working for 10 years with Curtiss-Ryan Honda in Shelton, CT until he and his wife moved to Gainesville, Florida thirteen years ago.

Also he had been an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox since he was eight years old. He loved telling the story of seeing Babe Ruth play.
