Based on the need for crew rest, some streets in the city won’t be plowed until tomorrow, at the earliest, according to the city.
About 26 inches of snow fell in Shelton and many places are still buried.

The series of I live on streets off of 108 (Cardinal, Meadowlark, Cardinal, Autumn Ridge) haven’t been touched. That better change soon, ok. This is getting ridiculous.

Lazy ass? I was outside all day doing my driveway and my neighbor’s, ok. People have jobs they need to get to and when people in every town around you can go about their lives almost completely normal by now it ridiculous.

Have not heard a plow since Friday. We are several streets away from a main road. Hope something happens soon. This is not safe at all. Understandable that workers need rest, but rest follows getting the job done!

Who decides the street plowing priority? Is it judged by the steepest hills or friends of government union members?

Plow drivers have been working 24+ hours. They need a break, for safety reasons. There are plenty of folks in surrounding towns that are also still snowed in, we are not the only town still buried. There are folks in Newtown, Stratford and Monroe still buried that I know of, and I am sure there are other towns in the same situation. With this much snow, it takes bigger equipment and takes much longer to clear.

If plow drivers have been working 24 hours…where were they working? We have been without heat since Saturday 5AM and UI can’t get through our street to give us the electric service we need simply because the road is not cleared! A 40 degree house is no fun!

People have to have some patience this was a huge storm. Do you realize how many streets and roads have to be taken care of? This wasn’t 5″ of snow that fell….these snow plows can’t handle this deep snow. it takes twice as long to clear…

Folks in the Ripton area haven’t heard a plow because it’s been sitting abandoned since Friday. I know crews are ring what they can, but shouldn’t they have the whole fleet out? Seems silly to let the plow just sit for days.
